{"id":3511,"date":"2024-05-08T22:10:47","date_gmt":"2024-05-08T19:10:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sahfy.net\/news\/?p=3511"},"modified":"2024-05-08T22:10:47","modified_gmt":"2024-05-08T19:10:47","slug":"new-honeywell-naphtha-technology-set-to-boost-energy-efficiency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sahfy.net\/news\/?p=3511&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"NEW HONEYWELL NAPHTHA TECHNOLOGY SET TO BOOST ENERGY EFFICIENCY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Honeywell today announced\u00a0a transformational new naphtha to ethane and propane (NEP) process that will enable regions across the world to improve the efficiency of light olefin production and lower CO<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> emissions per metric ton of olefin produced.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ethane and propane are the ideal feedstocks for producing ethylene and propylene \u2013 important petrochemicals used in the production of chemicals, plastics and fibers. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This innovation demonstrates Honeywell&#8217;s alignment of its portfolio with\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.honeywell.com\/us\/en\/press\/2023\/10\/honeywell-to-realign-portfolio-to-three-powerful-megatrends-automation-future-of-aviation-and-energy-transition?utm_source=pressrelease&amp;utm_medium=pr&amp;utm_campaign=24-ess-am-ww-pr-701Hu000002MRT6IAO&amp;utm_content=prelease\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">three compelling megatrends<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, including the energy transition.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The NEP technology generates a tunable amount of ethane and propane from naphtha and\/or LPG feedstocks.\u00a0 In a typical NEP-based olefin production complex, the ethane will be fed to an ethane steam cracking unit and the propane will be fed to a propane dehydrogenation unit. This approach generates more high-value ethylene and propylene with reduced production of lower-value byproducts compared to a traditional mixed-feed steam cracking unit directly processing the same quantity and composition of feedstock.
